Have some questions about the challenge? Read on...
How do I record my activities?
Tap the Play ▶ button in the top right corner of the app. Track your activity via Automatic (always on) or Manual Tracking (when you want to track a specific activity).
How has the challenge been funded?
The Choose How You Move Challenge has been funded by Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (CWLEP) and Warwick District Council in association with the Council providing venues for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games Lawn Bowls and Para Bowls and Cycling Road Race events.
Why automatic tracking?
Automatic tracking is better for you because all your eligible activities will be tracked, and better for us because your GPS data will be used to improve infrastructure and travel planning. We only share anonymised, aggregated data with Warwick District Council and we never share your data with anyone else.
What is the difference between BetterPoints and BetterTickets?
BetterPoints are a financially backed currency that you can earn by tracking your activities - over time these add up. Your points balance can be viewed from the ☰ menu button in the top left hand corner of the app. Once you've collected enough points you can redeem them for high street vouchers or donate to your favourite charity or community group (1,000 BetterPoints is equivalent to £1). BetterTickets are prize draw entries earned for doing a specific activity. Prizes can include pots of BetterPoints or specific things e.g. event tickets.
What can I spend my points on?
Check out our list of vouchers by tapping Redeem on the bottom navigation bar of your app. You can also give your points to your favourite charity or community group by tapping Donate.
What type of activity counts?
All recorded walking, wheeling, cycling and running activities, plus bus and train journeys, that start or finish within Warwick District will count towards the challenge.
Can I take part if I am in a wheelchair or mobility scooter, and if so, how do I record my journeys?
Yes! All kinds of wheelchairs and mobility scooters can be tracked as 'wheeling' in the app. If you select automatic tracking, your app will automatically track your journey. Due to the motion sensors inbuilt in your device, and the algorithms in the app, it may assume you are cycling, rather than using a wheelchair or mobility scooter. In your timeline, after completing your journey you will be able to amend this to wheeling and your journey will be updated.

Do you have any more questions?
If you have any further questions or encounter any issues with the app, tap the ☰ menu button in the top left-hand corner and then ‘Help’. Most queries can be answered here but, if not, you can contact BetterPoints by tapping the 💬 speech bubble in the top-right hand corner or by emailing email@example.com.
